MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972
As Amended

SEC. 65-3-33. Improvement of certain presently designated state highways.

Along the presently designated highway system, the State Highway Commission is authorized and directed to widen, overlay, or do whatever is otherwise necessary, to bring up to minimum traffic standards certain portions of two-lane highways within the state along the following routes, to wit:

1. Beginning at or near Senatobia, proceeding eastward to Thyatira, Galena, and Holly Springs.

2. Beginning at or near Holly Springs, proceeding south to or near Oxford, Water Valley, and Coffeeville.

3. Beginning at the Tennessee line north of Walnut, proceeding south to or near Walnut, Ripley, New Albany, Pontotoc, Houston, Mathiston, Ackerman, Louisville, Philadelphia, Decatur, Newton, Bay Springs, Laurel, Richton, Beaumont.

4. Beginning at Beaumont and proceeding south to the intersection with Mississippi Highway 67.

5. Beginning at or near Fulton, proceeding east to or near Tremont to the Mississippi-Alabama line.

6. Beginning at or near Clarksdale, proceeding east to or near Marks and Batesville.

7. Beginning at or near Webb, proceeding east to near Charleston to approximately five miles east of Charleston.

8. Beginning at or near Charleston, proceeding south to or near Oxberry, Holcomb, and Carrollton.

9. Beginning at or near Minter City, proceeding east to or near Grenada, Calhoun City, Vardaman and Houston.

10. Beginning at or near Calhoun City, proceeding south to or near Slate Springs, Walthall, and Eupora.

11. Beginning approximately two miles north of Itta Bena, proceeding southwestwardly to or near Swiftown, to intersection with U.S. Highway 49 West thirteen miles north of Belzoni.

12. Beginning approximately two and three-tenths miles north of Cruger, proceeding southwesterly to or near Tchula, Good Hope, Eden, to approximately one and six-tenths miles east of Yazoo City.

13. Beginning approximately one and six-tenths miles west of Vaiden, proceeding in a southerly direction to or near Hesterville, Kosciusko, Dossville, Carthage, Walnut Grove, Harperville, Forest, Homewood, Raleigh, to intersection with Mississippi Highway 28 approximately two and two-tenths miles from Mize, to Mount Olive, Lone Star, Bassfield, to or near Columbia.

14. Beginning at or near Columbia, proceeding southeasterly to or near Lampton, Baxterville, to intersection with U.S. Highway 59, being approximately one and five-tenths miles east of Lumberton.

15. Beginning at the Mississippi-Alabama line approximately six and two-tenths miles east of Scooba and proceeding westerly to or near DeKalb, Philadelphia, Carthage, Good Hope to approximately five miles east of intersection with Interstate Highway 55 north of Jackson.

16. Beginning approximately three and one-half miles east of Sand Hill in Rankin County, proceeding southeasterly to or near Pisgah to intersection with Mississippi Highway 481, approximately six miles southeast of Pisgah.

17. Beginning approximately ten miles north of Pelahatchie, proceeding south to Pelahatchie, to intersection with Interstate Highway 20.

18. Beginning at or near the northern line of Smith County, approximately three miles north of Polkville, proceeding to intersection with Interstate Highway 20, approximately two miles south of Morton.

19. Beginning at or near Hermanville, proceeding east to or near Hazlehurst.

20. Beginning at Interstate Highway 55 near Wesson, proceeding easterly to Highway 27 at or near Wanilla.

21. Beginning approximately two miles southwest of Jackson, proceeding southwesterly near or through Raymond, Utica, Utica Institute, Hermanville, to or near Port Gibson.

22. Beginning at or near McComb, proceeding west to or near Liberty.

23. Beginning at Indianola at the junction of Highway 49-W and Highway 82 and proceeding north on Highway 49-W to Sunflower, Doddsville, Ruleville, Drew, Parchman and Tutwiler; ending at junction of Highways 49-W and 49-E.

24. Beginning at the intersection of Highways 84 and 28 west of Laurel, following Highway 28 to its intersection with Highway 35.
