MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972
As Amended

SEC. 65-3-37. Additional road for state highway system.

(1) Because of the construction of dams and the impounding of waters in the reservoir of the Yocana river, farmers north of the said reservoir in Yalobusha County are prevented from reaching their customary markets and their county site to pay taxes, communities are cut off from their natural trade territory, and great difficulty is being experienced in transporting children to the schools of their districts, and, therefore, an emergency exists requiring the immediate construction of the road hereinafter described.

(2) Because of said emergency, the state highway commission is hereby authorized and directed to construct the road which is hereinafter described at the earliest possible time in its construction program, said road being described as a road leaving Highway No. 7 at or near Water Valley, Mississippi, and running in a northwesterly direction to a point on Highway No. 6 east of Batesville, Mississippi, to a point so as to connect with a road to be constructed from Sardis across Sardis Dam, thence in a southerly direction to intersect said Highway No. 6 east of Batesville.
