SEC. 65-3-75. Additions to and deletions from state highway system; Laws, 1975, chs. 371, 406; Laws, 1984, ch. 344.
(1) Additions to the state highway system.
Central District, Lauderdale County, as added by Laws, 1975, ch. 406, deleted from state highway system by Laws, 1984, ch. 344.
(2) Deletions from the state highway system.
Adams County
The following link of highway in Adams County, Mississippi, is hereby deleted from the state highway system and removed from the jurisdiction of the State Highway Commission:
Southern District-Adams County. A section of road, approximately nine (9) miles in length, which is now designated as Mississippi Highway No. 551, known locally as the Liberty Road, beginning approximately 1,100 feet southeast of Jeannette in Adams County and extending in a northwesterly direction along said road to an intersection with East Franklin Street and Melrose Street in the City of Natchez.
The above line of highway was made a part of the state designated highway system by Chapter 6, Laws of the Extraordinary Session 1949, and as amended by Chapter 70, Extraordinary Session of 1955.
The link of highway hereby deleted shall by passage of this section remain a part of the county road system in Adams County. [Laws, 1975, ch. 371, Sec. 1].
Lauderdale County
The following highway is hereby deleted from the state highway system and removed from the jurisdiction of the State Highway Commission:
Central District-Lauderdale County.
Beginning at or about the Northeast Industrial Park road intersection with U.S. Highway 45 in the Southwest 1/4 of Section 27, Township 7 North, Range 16 East, Lauderdale County, Mississippi, and running in a northwesterly and westerly direction to road intersection of Mississippi State Highway 19 and Mississippi State Highway 494 in the southwest 1/4 of Section 20, Township 7 North, Range 15 East, Lauderdale County, Mississippi, thence in a southernly direction to Lost Gap interchange on I-20 West in the southwest 1/4 of Section 20, Township 6 North, Range 15 East, Lauderdale County, Mississippi, being 14.5 miles more or less in length.
The above link of highway was made a part of the state designated highway system by Senate Bill 2627, being Chapter 406, Laws of 1975, codified as Section 65-3-75 (1), Mississippi Code of 1972. [Laws, 1984, ch. 344]
