MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972

SEC. 65-3-85. Additions to and deletions from state highway system; Laws, 1983, chs. 352, 417, 462.

(1) Additions to state highway system.

The mileage of the highway hereinafter specifically designated is in addition to the total mileage limitation of eight thousand six hundred (8,600) miles which is set out in section 65-3-3, Mississippi Code of 1972.

The following highway is hereby designated as a state highway and shall be placed under the jurisdiction of the state highway commission for construction and maintenance as hereinafter provided; and such highway, together with the highways designated in sections 65-3-3 and 65-3-5 and any and all other laws adding links to the designated state highway system, are declared to be the state highway system of Mississippi:

Southern District-Jackson County:

That road in Jackson County connecting U.S. 90 and Interstate 10, commencing at the intersection of Washington Avenue and U.S. 90 in the SW 1 /4 of Section 19, T 7 S, R 8 E, following Washington and Seaman Avenues, and terminating at the intersection of Seaman Avenue and Interstate 10.

Northern District-Yalobusha County:

The state-aid road running from Interstate 55 at the Tillatoba exit to the junction of State Highway 330 at Coffeeville (Federal Secondary Route No. 787), being approximately 10 miles in length.

The state highway commission is hereby authorized to maintain, construct, take over and assume jurisdiction of the above-designated highways in the same manner and upon the same terms and conditions as set out in sections 65-1-75, 65-3-3, 65-9-1 and 65-9-3, and provided that, as to the above-designated highway in Jackson County, federal aid highway bridge replacement and rehabilitation discretionary bridge appropriation funds and obligational authority are available and the project has been authorized by the federal highway administration.

(2) Deletions from state highway system.

The following highway is hereby deleted from the state highway system, removed from the jurisdiction of the state highway commission and returned to the jurisdiction of the board of supervisors of the designated county:

Southern District-Copiah County:

That portion of designated Mississippi Highway 472 (which has not been taken over for maintenance by the State Highway Department) from the NW end of Project FAS-S-310 (2)1 in Section 23, T1N, R3W, and extending northwesterly through Dentville and Jack to intersection of Mississippi Highway 18 at Utica Institute in Section 5, T2N, R4W, being approximately 14 miles.

The following link of highway in Yalobusha County, Mississippi, is hereby deleted from the state highway system and removed from the jurisdiction of the state highway commission and returned to the jurisdiction of the board of supervisors of Yalobusha County, Mississippi:

Northern District-Yalobusha County: A portion of Mississippi State Highway 330 running from Oakland to Coffeeville, Mississippi, a distance of approximately 14 miles.

The following section of highway in Prentiss and Tishomingo Counties is hereby deleted from the state highway system and removed from the jurisdiction of the State Highway Commission:

Northern District-Prentiss and Tishomingo Counties: That section of Mississippi State Highway 364, which is described as beginning at Mississippi State Highway 365 in the Southwest Quarter of Section 15, Township 4 South, Range 9 East, Prentiss County, Mississippi, and running thence Easterly 3.52 miles to terminate at the Southwest Quarter of Section 13, Township 4 South, Range 9 East, Tishomingo County, Mississippi.
