SEC. 27-13-53. Certificate of dissolution or withdrawal to be withheld pending notice of payment; other state departments to furnish information.

(1) The secretary of state shall withhold the issuance of any certificate of dissolution or withdrawal in the case of any corporation organized under the laws of this state or organized under the laws of another state and admitted to do business in this state until the receipt of a notice from the commissioner to the effect that the tax levied under this chapter against any such corporation has been paid, if any such corporation is a taxpayer under the law, or until he shall be notified by the commissioner that the applicant is not subject to pay a tax hereunder.

(2) Departments of Mississippi State Government are hereby specifically authorized to furnish to the commissioner, upon request of his authorized agents and employees, any information from the public records in their custody.
