SEC. 85-9-3. Debt adjusting unlawful; penalties.

The business of debt adjusting, except as authorized hereunder, is hereby declared unlawful. Any person who shall engage in the business of debt adjusting, except as provided in section 85-9-5, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined not more than five hundred dollars ($500.00), or be imprisoned not more than six (6) months, or both.
