SEC. 5-3-155. Per diem compensation and reimbursement of travel expenses; approval of meetings and expenditures of council.

Members of the council shall receive per diem as provided by Section 25-3-69, Mississippi Code of 1972, and reimbursement of travel expenses as provided by Section 5-1-47, Mississippi Code of 1972, as are allowed for the performance of their other legislative duties and responsibilities. The council shall obtain the approval of the Management Committee of the House of Representatives and the Contingent Expense Committee of the Senate for all meetings and per diem and travel expense expenditures of the council. The members of the council shall not receive per diem or expenses while the Legislature is in session. All expenses incurred by and on behalf of the council shall be paid from a sum to be provided in equal portion from the contingency funds of the Senate and the House of Representatives.
