SEC. 41-17-5. Directors of mental institutions to visit patients; discipline.
The directors of the State Insane Hospital at Whitfield and the East Mississippi Insane Hospital at Meridian shall visit each patient daily in person, or through a proper assistant, and shall ascertain the condition and necessities of the patient and prescribe such patient's treatment and regimen. In no case shall discipline be enforced to the extent of corporal punishment.
