SEC. 41-17-13. Separate accommodations at Whitfield for alcoholic and narcotic addicts.

Subject to the provisions of chapter 31 of this title, all persons suffering from the effects of alcoholism, or the use of narcotics, shall be committed to the State Insane Hospital at Whitfield, Mississippi, and shall be under the care, control and supervision of the director and his staff, and shall be placed in a building separate and apart from the other buildings now located at said institution at Whitfield, Mississippi. Said building shall be located on the west side of the present grounds of said State Insane Hospital at Whitfield, Mississippi.

When suitable accommodations have been made to care for such patients, all such patients now confined in any institution of the state shall be transferred thereto, and such patients shall be kept separate and apart in said building from the rest of the patients at said hospital.

All such transfers and commitments shall be made when suitable accommodations have been provided for such purposes in accordance with the provisions of this section.
