SEC. 41-19-107. Director to keep record.

The director of the Ellisville State School shall cause every person admitted to the institution as an inmate, to have, during the first month of his residence, a thorough-going physical examination and a complete mental examination. Complete records shall be made and filed of these examinations, and as complete history as possible of the person himself, of his family, and of his social relations, shall be obtained and made a part of the record of his case. To this record shall be contributed, at some time during the first two years of his residence, a second mental examination, and at some time within the first five years of his residence, a third mental examination. Children shall be examined at frequent intervals during their minority, in order to guide development wisely. The following divisions are suggested for the data to be obtained and filed in each case:

(1) Physical examination.

(2) Personal history (what illnesses the person has experienced, and at what ages).

(3) Family history (nervous and mental troubles in ancestors and collateral branches of the family).

(4) School history (before and after admission to the school; progress in training).

(5) Industrial history (what work has the inmate done, and with what success?).

(6) Civil and social relations (inmate married? If a female, names and ages of children. Legitimate or illegitimate?).

(7) Mental development (specific results of intelligence tests and other tests of mentality and ratings of character formation).
