SEC. 45-1-9. Surety bonds of highway safety patrolmen and other appointees.
Prior to entering upon the discharge of his duties, each highway patrolman, and such other appointees as the governor and commissioner shall designate, shall furnish to the commissioner a surety bond in the sum of not less than two thousand dollars ($2,000.00), payable to the state of Mississippi, conditioned upon the faithful performance of the duties of his office. All bonds shall be subject to the approval of the governor, and premiums thereon shall be paid as are other expenses of the department.
