SEC. 49-11-1. Licensing and regulation.

The Mississippi Game and Fish Commission is hereby authorized and empowered to issue operating licenses or permits for shooting preserves, which shall be privately owned and operated, and to make such rules and regulations as may be necessary and proper in carrying out the purposes of this chapter.

1997 Amendment:

SECTION 1. Section 49-11-1, Mississippi Code of 1972, is amended as follows:

 49-11-1. For purposes of this chapter:

 (a) "Commission" means the Commission on Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks.

 (b) "Department" means the Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks.

 (c) "Operator" means a person licensed to operate a shooting preserve or a commercial wildlife enclosure.
