SEC. 49-20-33. Judicial review of approval or disapproval of acquisition.
Any person filing a statement required by this chapter, the river timberlands company, or any other party in interest, which is adversely affected or aggrieved by an action of the Secretary of State under this chapter in approving or disapproving an acquisition subject to the provisions of this chapter, may obtain judicial review of the Secretary of State's action by filing, within thirty (30) days after service of notice of the Secretary of State's action, a civil action in the Chancery Court for the First Judicial District of Hinds County, seeking judicial review of such action. Upon the filing of such action, the court may, upon application of the complaining party, stay the effectiveness of the Secretary of State's order pending proceedings in the court. Upon review by the court, the findings of the Secretary of State, if supported by competent, material and substantial evidence and not contrary to law, shall be conclusive.
