SEC. 51-19-9. Organization.
Upon appointment of four or more commissioners, the commissioners shall meet on a date and at the hour designated by, and in the office of, the chancery clerk of Hinds County; however, such date shall be not more than fifteen days after the appointment of the fourth commissioner. It shall be the responsibility of each commissioner appointed to notify the above referenced chancery clerk of his appointment within five days of such appointment.
The commissioners, at the meeting specified above, shall organize by electing from among their number a president, a vice president, and a secretary-treasurer. Other offices may be created and appointments made, from either members of the commission or delegates thereto, by appropriate bylaws duly created and authorized by the commission.
The commission shall meet at a time and place designated in the bylaws. There shall be at least one regular meeting each quarter.

1997 Amendment:
SECTION 4. Sections 51-19-1, 51-19-3, 51-19-5, 51-19-7, 51-19-9, 51-19-11, 51-19-13 and 51-19-15, Mississippi Code of 1972, which establish the purpose of the West Central Mississippi Waterway Commission, provide for the commission membership, appointment of delegates and their compensation and term of office and organization and powers and duties of the commission, authorize cooperation by other governmental bodies and provide that this chapter is supplemental to other laws, is repealed.
