SEC. 51-23-7. Counties which may become members of the district.
Any county bordering on the Lower Yazoo River or any of its tributaries and any county through which the Lower Yazoo River or any of its tributaries runs may be included in the district. Each such county shall be considered a part of the Lower Yazoo River Basin. The counties within the Lower Yazoo River Basin and eligible to become members of the district are as follows: Warren, Sharkey, Yazoo, Issaquena, Humphreys, Holmes, and Leflore.

1997 Amendment:
SECTION 7. Sections 51-23-1, 51-23-3, 51-23-5, 51-23-7, 51-23-9, 51-23-11, 51-23-13, 51-23-15 and 51-23-17, Mississippi Code of 1972, which establish legislative intent and policy for the Lower Yazoo River Basin District, authorize the organization of the district and specify which counties may become part of the district, and provide for a board of directors, creation of the district, payments to the district, expenses of the district and powers and duties of the district, are repealed.
