SEC. 51-35-139. Engineer, attorney, and other employees.

The board may employ an engineer and an attorney and such other agents and employees as may be needed, and shall fix their salaries at the time of employment. The board may purchase such materials and supplies and pay for such publication and printing necessary or incidental to the prosecution of the work and the operation of the district. The board may provide reasonable compensation for the secretary and the treasurer, but all amounts paid to engineers or attorneys and the secretary and treasurer shall be approved by the chancery court or chancellor, who may decrease, but shall not increase, such compensation.

1997 Amendment

 SECTION 10. Sections 51-35-127, 51-35-129, 51-35-131, 51-35-133, 51-35-135, 51-35-137, 51-35-139, 51-35-141, 51-35-143 and 51-35-145, Mississippi Code of 1972, which create the Board of Commissioners, provide for terms of office, oath and compensation of board members and for organization, quorum, employees, minutes and officers of the board, and authorize the Board of Commissioners to designate depositories for funds of the district, are repealed.
