SEC. 65-23-111. Tax exemption.

The accomplishment of the purposes stated in this article being for the benefit of the people of this state and for the improvement of their commerce and property, the state highway commission in carrying out the purposes of this article will be performing an essential governmental function and shall not be required to pay any tax or assessment on the project or any part thereof. The bonds issued hereunder and their transfer and the income therefrom, including any profits made on the sale thereof, shall at all times be free from taxation within this state.
