SEC. 73-54-7. Penalties. [Repealed effective July 1, 2011].

Except as specifically exempted in Section 73-54-9, beginning September 1, 1997, any person who represents himself or herself by the title or description "marital or marriage therapist," "licensed marital or marriage and family therapist," or any other name, style or description denoting that the person is a marriage and family therapist or marriage and family counselor without having first complied with the provisions of this chapter shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a fine of not less than Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) nor more than One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) for each offense.
