SEC. 75-31-413. Sediment.
Sections 75-31-1, 75-31-3, 75-31-5, 75-31-6, 75-31-7, 75-31-9, 75-31-11, 75-31-13, 75-31-15, 75-31-17, 75-31-19, 75-31-21, 75-31-23, 75-31-25, 75-31-27, 75-31-29, 75-31-31, 75-31-33, 75-31-35, 75-31-37, 75-31-39, 75-31-40, 75-31-41, 75-31-43, 75-31-45, 75-31-47, 75-31-49, 75-31-51, 75-31-53, 75-31-55, 75-31-57, 75-31-59, 75-31-61 and 75-31-63, Mississippi Code of 1972, which provide for the regulation of milk and milk products by the Commissioner of Agriculture and Commerce, are repealed.
A test for the purpose of determining the amount and nature of sediment in cream shall always be made by the grader on the first purchase of cream from a seller or producer. If the test reveals no undue amount of sediment, no further sediment test need be made on the cream of that seller or producer during that month, but at least one test for sediment shall be made each month on the cream sold by each seller or producer. But the grader shall make such test wherever he has reason to believe that such test is advisable.
Test for sediment shall be made with either two or four ounces of cream. When made with two ounces, the sediment pad shall be one and one-fourth inches in diameter and have a filtering surface of one inch. When made with four ounces, the sediment pad or cloth shall have a filtering surface of not more than one and one-half inches in diameter. The sediment pad or cloth shall have a strand thickness of six-thousandths of an inch and at least one hundred threads to the inch, or as prescribed by the commissioner of agriculture and commerce, and each pad shall be preserved in an envelope marked with the name of the seller and the date of test, and shall be held for thirty (30) days from the date of test.
